Students partner with Punjabi Market Collective to showcase revitalization efforts

May 24, 2022
Local and Global Engagement | Strategy 20: Co-ordinated Engagement
Theme: Collaboration

In the summer of 2021, four students in ACAM 390A (The Heritage of Chinese Migrations) partnered with the Punjabi Market Collective to celebrate and highlight revitalization efforts happening at Vancouver’s Punjabi Market at Main and East 49th Avenue. Through that partnership, students created the video essay, Punjabi Market: Resilient Cultures, Resilient Communities.

Visit the ACAM website to read more from the students behind the project and their experience working with local community organizers.

Through Strategy 20: Co-ordinated Engagement, UBC is committed to working with diverse partners to listen, learn and develop shared values for effective engagement, and to reinforce a culture of reciprocity.
