UBC has recently launched the Beyond Tomorrow Scholars Program, designed to provide both financial and institutional support for Black Canadian students. Students identifying as Black Canadians can apply for a range of one-time and renewable scholarships worth up to $80,000 through the initiative. It also offers programs that seek to foster community among Black students on the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses through events, panel discussions, and other activities.

The program welcomed its first cohort of 13 students at the start of the academic year in September 2021.
