The Eminence competition was established by the Office of the Vice-Principal, Research and Innovation to support the development of clusters of research excellence at UBC Okanagan.
A cluster of research excellence is an interdisciplinary network of researchers focused on addressing key challenges facing society.
The Eminence Program is specifically intended to catalyze research and knowledge creation initiatives that will be used strategically to attract further external opportunities (e.g., partnerships, grants, trainee support programs, corporate sponsorship, NGO collaborations etc.). The Eminence Program has been designed to support clusters that leverage existing strengths and are aligned with the strategic plans of the units, faculties, campus and university.
