On Feb. 6, 2020, Dr. Mariam Wallet Mohamed Aboubakrine, former chair and member of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, presented the 4th Annual John P. Bell Global Indigenous Rights lecture on her perspective on the progress and challenges for Indigenous women’s rights since the Fourth World Conference on Women: Action for Equality, Development and Peace convened by the United Nations in Beijing in 1995.
