UBC is transforming to meet the challenges of today – and tomorrow. The university’s new global engagement strategy, In Service, outlines a bold new vision for collaborating with partners large and small, at home and abroad, spanning not only disciplines, but cities, countries and continents. Prof. Santa J. Ono, UBC President and Vice-Chancellor, opened the virtual launch celebration for In Service on April 12, 2021.
The event featured local and global speakers in conversation on what it means to be a university “in service” to the world through equitable collaboration – from research on issues of global relevance to capacity development work and global educational experiences.
In support of Strategy 19: Global Networks, UBC is prioritizing and supporting partnerships that benefit the both the international community and our partners – as well as create value at the university – and fostering new alliances in areas of shared, strategic importance.
