UBC’s strategic directions sets our path toward the 2050 vision, supported by annual actions informed by expert input and community consultation. These actions reflect a shared commitment across the university to move us towards a prosperous future.

Year One

Action 1

Increase the number of flexible program offerings, such as micro-credentials, stackable courses, condensed courses, and online learning opportunities in areas of demand and UBC expertise.

Action 2

Identify and remove barriers, promote cross-campus pathways and mobility, and pilot intercampus international students’ recruitment strategies.

Action 3

Pilot at UBC Okanagan opportunities to increase admission access points for undergraduate programming (e.g., January or May start dates).

Notes:

  • The actions outlined as a part of Strategic Directions 2025–2030 work alongside the strategies committed to in Shaping UBC’s Next Century 2018–2028 (PDF).
  • These actions, some of which are multi-year, will be reviewed and renewed annually as our community and context evolve.
