The Commons is the new inspiring space at UBC Okanagan

The UBC Okanagan community has gained a new modern space: UBCO Commons. Opened in January, the multipurpose facility offers students a high-tech 400-seat classroom, informal collaborative learning study areas, a digital technology centre and a graduate student commons. It also includes a visualization lab to facilitate high-resolution data modelling in research fields.

Described as a “transformative building for UBC Okanagan” by Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Principal Deborah Buszard, the opening of the Commons directly supports the advancement of Strategy 2: Inspiring Spaces of UBC’s strategic plan. It reflects the university’s efforts to create welcoming physical and virtual spaces to advance collaboration, innovation and community engagement.
