Initiatives

INTEGRATED CAMPUS EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING INITIATIVE

Coordination amongst experiential learning providers at UBCO is currently underdeveloped. An integrated approach is being facilitated through a task force who are focused on:

  1. establishing a practical definition and classification of EL;
  2. documenting current EL opportunities;
  3. designing an annual reporting process; and
  4. creating recommendations for unit and campus level EL support.

INVESTMENTS IN CAREER LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT

UBC recognizes the need to expand its investments in experiential and workplace learning and innovate to help students gain career confidence. Priorities for development and investment include: re-aligning and expanding expertise to offer customized career education for distinct populations, with particular emphasis on career education for non-Co-op students; and expanding and improving students’ opportunities to engage with employers, alumni, and community.
