Place and Promise: The UBC Plan Launches December 2 at the Blue & Gold Revue

The key elements of UBC’s renewed strategic plan—Place and Promise—have been finalized, and production is underway on a print publication and website that will formally launch the plan throughout the UBC community.

There will be one print piece, a small-run, sustainably produced document that will first be available at the Blue & Gold Revue, Wednesday December 2, 2009. Watch your email for more information on this event.

On the same day, the revitalized website will go live at this address (, so please mark the place and be sure to return. The site will be comprehensive and interactive, inviting students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members to continue to be involved with this living document as it moves us toward the realization of the University’s vision.

I would like to express my gratitude to the many thousands of people who have contributed to the plan over the 18-month consultation process, and to the hundreds of individuals and teams on campus who in the last few months have shepherded it through to completion. I am confident of the commitments we make in the plan precisely because of the commitment shown in writing it.

I am honoured and excited to be a part of this new chapter for UBC, and look forward to seeing you at the Blue & Gold Revue.

Thank you.
